When unsold copies of the 1990 Simplex kept turning up in shops, Nelson accused his management of bootlegging the album, not considering any release official till it was issued in a limited run 500 copies in 2000. Wide release followed in 2012, and suddenly the lawsuit-launching, career-changing, and mythical Simplex album revealed itself as harmless and warm stuff, better for small, personal revolutions or background listening and not what you'd put on while bringing down an empire. Signed to EMI, the band released five studio albums and scored a top ten UK hit with the single Ship In The Night. In 1979 Bill disbanded Be-Bop Deluxe and launched Red Noise. As a solo artist he's worked with the David Sylvian, Harold Budd and Cabaret Voltaire as well as producing The Skids and Gary Numan. From the album 'Simplex'. Some Distant Time. Bill Nelson - The Nelson born 18 December 1948 in Wakefield, West Riding of Yorkshire, England is an English singer, guitarist, songwriter, producer, painter, video artist, writer and experimental musician. He rose to prominence as the chief songwriter, vocalist and guitarist of the rock group Be-Bop Deluxe, which he formed in 1972. Nelson has been described as one of the most underrated guitarists of the seventies art rock movement. In 2015, he was recognised with the Visionary award at the Progressive
