Album

Think Tank is the seventh studio album by the English rock band Blur, released in May 2003. Continuing the jam-based studio constructions of the group's previous album, 13 1999, the album expanded on the use of sampled rhythm loops and brooding, heavy electronic sounds. There are also heavy influences from dance music, hip hop, dub, jazz, and African music, an indication of songwriter Damon Albarn's expanding musical interests. Think Tank - Blur. Recording moved southwards when the band packed up the entire studio and migrated to Marrakech, and finishing touches were added in Devon. The final thirteen tracks were selected from more than twenty five completed songs. With the exception of a year back in 1995, Blur have never rested on their laurels. Unlike their peers, they've delivered each album dipped in a drastic new element while keeping a consistent melodic heart. Albarn has always taken his shots, and thirteen years on seems to savor the challenge. After leaking onto the internet in March, Think Tank was released on 5 May 2003 and entered the UK Albums Chart at number one, making it Blur's fifth consecutive studio album to reach the topspot. The album was later certified Gold. Think Tank also reached the top 20 in many other countries, including Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Norway and Japan. Think Tank is the seventh studio album by Blur, released on 5 May 2003 in the United Kingdom via Parlophone. It represented a major musical change for the group with experimental and World Music elements being added to the usual Britpop palette. It also gave them their highest charting album in the United States. The album cover was stenciled by the graffiti artist Banksy. The album's cover art sold at auction in 2007 for 75,000. NME ranked the album number 20 on its Top 100 Greatest Albums of the. As Blur commenced recording on Think Tank, their seventh album, things got a little weird. Tensions between vocalistsongwriter Damon Albarn and guitarist Graham Coxon reached a boiling point following Albarn's success with his dance-oriented side project, Gorillaz, leading him to assert dominance over the band, all of which was at odds with a newly sober and somber Coxon, whose solo records were doggedly designed to appeal to small audiences. I think this album is amazing. Blur obviously worked very hard to produce an album with so much variety. Caravan is a particularly good track. There other stuff was good and fun to listen to but never really got passed that point. Think tank is a really intresting and orginal album. blurkom May 3rd 2006. Album Rating: 4. i dont think its their best album but i love every blur record. Its very different and has a groove about it, i'm not saying i hate it, because i love it, but graham could have made it so much better. also: its damon albARN, sorry to be annoying but it was bugging me
