Bob Dylan - Not Dark Yet. Today we explore Bob Dylans masterful comeback, 1997s Time Out of Mind. Not long after attending the California funeral of his friend Jerry Garcia, Bob Dylan found himself snowbound at his Minnesota farm. He would listen to the storms and write after the sun sank from the winter sky. Those songs turned the cold environment into a crystalline lens on the tiring world-a place that was not dark yet, but getting there, where the blues wrapped around my head. What Dylan had left to say or whether he had any enthusiasm left for saying it had, for a while, been unclear. Time Out of Mind is Bob Dylan's 30th studio album, released in 1997 by Columbia Records. For fans and critics, the album marked Dylan's artistic comeback after he struggled with his musical identity throughout the 1980s, and hadn't released any original material since the release of Under the Red Sky in 1990. Upon release, Time Out of Mind was hailed as one of the singer-songwriter's best albums, and it went on to win three Grammy awards, including Album of the Year in 1998. It also made Uncut magazine's Album of the Year. The album features a particularly atmospheric. Bob Dylan. Time Out of Mind. After spending much of the '90s touring and simply not writing songs, Bob Dylan returned in 1997 with Time Out of Mind, his first collection of new material in seven years. Where Under the Red Sky, his last collection of original compositions, had a casual, tossed-off feel, Time Out of Mind is carefully considered, from the densely detailed songs to the dark, atmospheric production. play album. Time Out Of Mind. Рок, Авторская песня. Time Out of Mind is Dylans first studio release since the solo acoustic bookends Good As I Been to You 1992 and World Gone Wrong 1993, which reinvestigated the songs that fired his passion as a long-ago would-be Woody Guthrie. Now, Dylan has made a coherent, sonically striking but equally subdued ensemble album that sorts through the mess of the more recent past. Save for the brief reminder midway through Highlands, the audacity of the young, supremely confident Dylan is long gone. In its place has come a voice that is less instantly arresting but nearly as disconcerting
