Although the sound wasnt as polished as his experimental opus Bitches Brew, many of the works featured on the album were his most explorative and forward thinking. Each track blends different elements of pop, soul, funk, and even early rock. The most glaring experiment was Miles' use of synthesizers in the drums and keyboards, bringing it much mainstream focused sound. Miles Davis died in 1991.
