Lubman has conducted at new-music festivals across Europe, including those in Lucerne, Salzburg, Berlin, Huddersfield, Paris, Cologne, Frankfurt, and Oslo. Lubman is founding Co-Artistic and Music Director of the NY-based Ensemble Signal. Since its debut in 2008, the Ensemble has performed over 180 concerts and co-produced ten recordings. Their recording of Reichs Music for 18 Musicians on harmonia mundi was awarded a Diapason dor in June 2015 and appeared on the Billboard Classical crossover charts. Brad Lubman is on faculty at the Eastman School of Music and the Bang on a Can Summer Institute. When Signal performed the work in April at Le Poisson Rouge, Mr. Riesman played the central piano part. Glassworks: I. Philip Glass. Composers: Philip Glass. Dance II. Michael Riesman studied composition with Peter Stearns and conducting with Carl Bamberger at the Mannes College of Music and got a B. there in 1967. The summer of 1967 he went to the Aspen Music Festival where he studied with Darius Milhaud, and won the student composition prize. Another important work was his Chamber Concerto which he conducted in a performance with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra at Carnegie Hall and elsewhere.
